About

AkzoNobel Films is part of the division AkzoNobel Specialty Coatings, a global leader in decorative and functional coatings for the transportation and consumer goods markets. The films portfolio offers a proven alternative to traditional liquid paint and chrome plating, enabling high-quality, repeatable finishes with improved efficiency and sustainability. Through brands such as Fluorex, Intura and Brightfilm, AkzoNobel delivers paint-like, metal-like and printed-effect surfaces that stringent OEM performance requirements while expanding design possibilities.

The product range includes paintfilms, bright (chrome appearance) films and print effect films for both and exterior applications. Paintfilms provide a full palette of colors, including solid, metallic, pearlescent and anodized, with options for texturing, two-tone designs and complex special effects. Brightfilms reproduce chrome and brushed metal appearances without hexavalent chromium, a safer and environmentally responsible solution for automotive, appliance and consumer electronics components. Print effect films enable realistic wood grains, technical patterns and backlit graphics, supporting distinctive interior designs with high durability and chemical, UV and abrasion resistance. All films are designed for use on common plastics such as PP, ABS and PC, as well as metals including steel aluminum and magnesium, and many are fully recyclable.

As part of AkzoNobel, one of the world’s largest producers of paints and specialty chemicals, AkzoNobel Specialty Coatings operates with a global footprint. Production facilities in Europe, Asia and the Americas are complemented by Design Centers in South Korea, China, Germany and the United States, enabling close collaboration with OEM design and engineering teams. This global presence, combined with deep materials expertise and application support, allows AkzoNobel Films to respond quickly to customer needs and to deliver robust, scalable decorative solutions across markets and regions.

AkzoNobel Films exists to bridge design ambition with industrial reality—offering film-based technologies that make high-value, distinctive surfaces practical, repeatable and sustainable at scale.
